Thank you very much for your interest in the Idaho Green Expo. We could not produce this fantastic event without Volunteers from our Community! We appreciate your time and support - and to make volunteering a little bit easier we've created a simple online volunteer registration form.

We have many different opportunities for you at the Expo! Please take a look at the list below and see how you would like to get involved. Beneath this list, you'll find a link to our online registration form.

Whether you want to volunteer once during the event, or multiple times, we value your contribution in making the Idaho Green Expo a great success!

Friday: Event Setup

Loading Dock
Friday, May 16th
3 Shifts:
   11:30pm - 3:30pm
   3:00pm - 6:30pm
   6:00pm - 9:00pm
Age Requirement: 18+

Description: As a volunteer for the loading dock you will be required to assist exhibitors in unloading vehicles and transporting items from the loading dock to their booth space in the Boise Centre on the Grove. Must be able to follow directions, lift heavy objects and consists of constant physical activity.




Move-In Assistants
Friday, May 16th
3 Shifts:
   11:30pm - 3:30pm
   3:00pm - 6:30pm
   6:00pm - 9:00pm
Age Requirements: 16+

Description: Move-in volunteers will help the Idaho Green Expo staff with odd tasks associated with setting up the event at the Boise Centre on the Grove. Tasks might include, but are not limited to, setting up booths, helping put up signage, and organizing various Idaho Green Expo materials. Must be able to follow directions, partake in physical activity and possibly lift heavy objects.

Saturday: Idaho Green Expo (Outdoors) - Concert on the Plaza

Special Event: Food Court Attendants
Saturday, May 17th
1 Shift: 4:30pm - 8:30pm
Age Requirement: 18+

Description: Volunteers in this area must constantly be watchful and mindful of the food court area to ensure that it is maintained as clean and uncluttered. Food Court volunteers will be involved in a variety of tasks, which might include serving food, bussing tables and/or cleaning the overall Food Court area. Also, directing patrons to the nearest Resource Recovery Station will be included in duties. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Special Event: Beer/Wine Garden Attendant
Saturday, May 17th
2 Shifts:
2:00pm - 6:00pm
5:30pm - 9:30pm
Age Requirement: 21+

Description: Volunteers working in this area will make sure that people with alcohol do not leave the Beer and Wine Garden and that the Beer and Wine Garden is kept clean throughout the event. Volunteers may also assist with running the cash register and pouring of beverages or help the Area Coordinator with other duties. Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Special Event: Music/Stage Attendant
Saturday, May 17th
1 Shift: 4:30pm - 8:30pm - FILLED
Age Requirement: 21+

Description: Music Stage volunteers will be assisting the sound technician and stage manager with maintaining sound quality during performances and making sure that performances run smoothly throughout the event. Volunteers will also keep time for performers, and assist the Area Coordinator with other duties. Set-up and breakdown of stage area are also responsibilities of the Music/Stage Attendant.

Saturday: Idaho Green Expo (Indoors)


Expo Info/Greeter/Host
Saturday, May 17th

Age Requirement: 16+

Description: As an info/greeter/host volunteer you will be stationed at the main entrance of the Boise Centre on the Grove. Your duties will include greeting individuals, handing out guides, keeping tally of how many visit the Idaho Green Expo, answering basic questions and providing directional assistance to those attending the show. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Zero Waste/Green Recycling Team
Saturday, May 17th
3 Shifts:
   8:30am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:00pm - 4:30pm - FILLED
   4:00pm - 8:00pm
Age Requirement: 16+

Description: Volunteers will assist the Idaho Green Expo in maximizing its sustainability goals by diverting as much waste from the landfill as possible. Volunteers will ensure that attendees deposit their waste/recycling/compost in the proper bins at the Resource Recovery Stations. Volunteers are expected to educate attendees on the greening efforts at the Idaho Green Expo. This is a number one priority at the Idaho Green Expo and volunteers in this area must maintain an organized and unpolluted Resource Recovery Station. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Photo Message and Pledge Wall
Saturday, May 17th

   8:30am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:00pm - 4:30pm - FILLED
   4:00pm - 8:00pm
Age Requirement: 16+

Description: Assist the area coordinator with the operation of the Photo Message and Pledge Wall. A volunteer in this area will help photograph attendees and place (or find) their photograph on the Pledge Wall. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Merchandise Booth/Green Expo Store
Saturday, May 17th
3 Shifts:
   8:30am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:00pm - 4:30pm - FILLED
   4:00pm - 8:00pm
Age Requirement: 16+

Description: Volunteers will assist Idaho Green Expo staff with security, stocking, and selling Idaho Green Expo merchandise, such as canvas bags, reusable canisters, and other merchandise to attendees. Retail experience is encouraged. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Sample Table Attendant

Age Requirement: 16+

Description: Volunteers at the Food and Beverage Sampling booth will ensure that the booth is clean and uncluttered at all times. Volunteers will help hand out samples, restock the provisions and help direct attendees to the nearest Resource Recovery Station. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Seminar Hosts
Saturday, May 17th
3 Shifts:
   9:30am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:00pm - 4:30pm - FILLED
   4:00pm - 7:00pm
Age Requirement: 18+

Description: Volunteers working here will be responsible for the seminar rooms. Job duties include greeting the seminar speaker(s) in a friendly and helpful manner, assist in the set-up of their program and any other needs they might have, hand out any information to attendees, and assist in seating attendees so that the seminar can start in a timely manner. Volunteers will also provide assistance with A/V problems, as well as keep the rooms orderly after each seminar is finished. An area coordinator will be working in the seminar rooms to assist volunteers. Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Film Festival Operator
Saturday, May 17th
3 Shifts:
   10:00am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:30pm - 3:30pm - FILLED
   3:30pm - 6:30pm
Age Requirement: 18+

Description: The volunteer working here will be responsible for the film festival room. The volunteer in this area will be responsible for beginning each film at its designated time, provide a brief introduction of the film to attendees, assist in seating attendees in a timely fashion, clean the room between films, and oversee the general operation of the room during the shift. Must be A/V proficient and comfortable speaking in front of a group of people. A cheerful and friendly disposition is a must!




Eco-Kids Volunteers (TBD)
Saturday, May 17th
3 Shifts:
   8:30am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:00pm - 4:30pm - FILLED
   4:00pm - 8:00pm
Age Requirement: 21+

Description: Eco-Kid's volunteers will help facilitate kid's programs throughout their shift, and make sure parents do not leave their children unattended (parents must stay in Eco-Kid's Zone with children). Volunteers should be comfortable working with children and with assisting in implementing various children's programs. Volunteers may also help focus attention on presenters, welcome presenters, and assist the Eco-Kid's area coordinator. Professional teachers are encouraged to volunteer. Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!




Exhibitor Assistants
Saturday, May 17th

   8:30am - 12:30pm - FILLED
   12:00pm - 4:30pm - FILLED
   4:00pm - 8:00pm
Age Requirement: 16+

Description: Each of the 9 Tracks at the Idaho Green Expo will have volunteers constantly circulating a designated track of Exhibitors. Volunteers scheduled as part of the Exhibitors Assistants will have a variety of duties, which may include running errands or relieving exhibitors in their track, direct attendees to specific booths that are within the track area, and maintain a clean and unpolluted track area. Volunteers must be very flexible and ready to do anything as an Exhibitor Assistant. A cheerful disposition and a constant smile are a must! Plan on spending a lot of time on your feet!
